Below are the newest and the best links we have found for information on Tobermory and the island:
Getting to Tobermory:
Ferries (CalMac)- these run from (mainland to island) - Oban to Craignure, Lochaline to Fishnish, Kilchoan to Tobermory, Loch Sunart to Tobermory, Drimnin to Tobermory. Oban is the big boat and has rail links to Glasgow and Fort William. Lochaline is a shorter crossing but is not bookable. Kilchoan does take cars. www.calmac.co.uk
Seaplane - personal transport from the Clyde in Glasgow to outside the door of Rockcliffe in Tobermory - all in 35 minutes. A really adventurous and romantic way to travel. www.lochlomondseaplanes.com
Trains - these arrive in Oban and are (more or less) timed to connect with the ferries to Mull. The boat will wait if the train's late! www.scotrail.co.uk
Bus - to Oban www.citylink.co.uk and on the island www.scotland.org.uk
